Argument Source #1

Can the use of animals in medical research ever be justified?

1. This article had two different opinions. The author shows the side of someone who thinks it will be justified and someone who doesnt. The person who does says that they are trying to come up with new technology to use instead but until then they have no choice but to use animals. The person that says no states that these animals are given doses that would be harmful to humans. They dont even know if it would work on people so what is the point of ruining the animals lives.
2. The author writes about both sides of the arguement but doesnt choose a side.
3. Assertion: Animals are vital to advancing medicine. The whole part of the article is based around the fact that they think animals are necessary for research.
Assertion:switching to modern humane research will improve the quality and humanity of our science. The argument is how animal research doesnt help and should be switched to humans so you can see the real affect.
