Fast Food Nation Chapter 4 Question

1. The legal issues that have been involved is inflated prices charged by suppliers, terminations and bankruptcies that seemed unfair
2. Subway has been in more legal disputes that burger king, kfc, mcdonalds, pizza hut, taco bell, and wendys combined. The legal issuses Subway has been involved with is the problems with opening new subways and paying their agents. They're constantly trying to open new subways regardless of how the other subways near by are doing.

I think they have not formed unions because they are afraid the workers might fight against them. The management knows they do things wrong so forming the union would only hurt them. The workers would then be able to defend themselves when they are treated badly and it would hurt the restuarant.

They marketed to children by all different types of media and even went as far as offering a free toy with the kids meal. They also started to include playgrounds in the restaurants. When they have all that stuff the kids are more attracted to those things so they want to eat there. Then the company started to compete with bozo the clown by creating their own character, Ronald McDonald. They started making other characters too like the hamburgerlar and more. I think they targeted children because they are more gullable and give in easily to bribes like the free toys.
